about

Panai
Cora is one of the most beautiful instrument in Africa which is said to be the original form of the nowadays guitar and harp.
MADINA N'DIAYE was born in Republic of Mali and she is one of the very few professional Cora player in the traditional culture of Mali. She was taught this unique instrument by renowned masters like Grammy winner, Toumani Diabaté and Djélimadi Cissoko. Madina develops her own personal expressions.
But few years back, she was unfortunately infected by a contagious disease which disabled her eyesight, nevertheless completed her official 1st album ”Bimogow ”.
This album features Lamin Traore, a balaphone player from Mali (also on this Panai imprint) which together brings colorful harmony and amazing rhythm combinations. Also the impressive female chorus adds extra brightness to the songs, leaving us with a peaceful feeling throughout .
She has toured extensively throughout Europe and gaining attention quickly even outside of her country.
