Alejandro Franov is the leading figure of the Argentina’s experimental music scene. Champaqui is his latest album in 2 years, and is his most deepest soundscape album ever taking the concept from the sacred mountain Champaqui (2,790m) located in the Cordoba, Argentina. Being inspired of the wild nature there, he uses many field recordings blending them with synthesizers, gong and flute (not to forget that he is a skilled multi-instrumentalist as well). You can easily hear the differnce between other ambient drone music, that it’s not just a “style” but something derived deeply from his soul, and is also a natural path considering his long and vast music career. Very spiritual and meditative in the most natural way.

Alejandro Franov is a musician, composer residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is also a multi-instrumentalist who can play the accordion, keyboards, guitar, citar, percussion and even vocals. As a producer, he has participated in Juana Molina’s albums, and as a composer, he won the grand prix at a music award in Argentina with his scores for the soundtrack “Rompecabezas”. He has also released around 10 solo albums, and is one of the most famous Argentinean musician in Japan.
「アルゼンチン音響派」最重要人物の一人。ブエノスアイレス在住。シタール、アコーディオン、キーボード、ギター、パーカッション、ボーカルと何でもこなすマルチ奏者。フアナ・モリーナのプロデュースや、モノ・フォンタナの作品にも参加、2007年にはフェルナンド・カブサッキらと来日、ROVOの勝井祐二、山本精一ら多数とコラボレート。国内盤としてリリースされたアルバムは4枚にのぼり、今作で5枚目となる。2011年10月に日本でも公開された「幸せパズル（原題: Rompecabezas）」という映画のサントラも手掛け、その作品でアルゼンチンの最高権威にあたる音楽賞も受賞した。
