Felt〜The Smiths〜Belle & Sebastian……。かつて、ネオアコ〜インディー・ポップに夢中になった世代、そして、The Drums、Pains Of Being Pure At Heart、Letting Up Despite Great Faultsといった新世代のインディー・ポップ・バンドたちに触発された若い世代のどちらにも届けたい傑作インディー・ポップ。ジャケットが示すようにモノクロームで少し寂しげなメランコリック・トーンをかき鳴らすギター、そして明らかに英国ロックの『文学派』の系譜を引くヴォーカル。しかし、かき鳴らされるギターが自由度を増し、輝きを放ち、ヴォーカルが確かなエモーションを伝えるとき、俯きがちだった楽曲のトーンは次第に明るさを帯び、聴き終えるときにはそれが爽快なまでに明るいポップ・ソングだったと気づかされる、中毒性を持ったポップ。英国の新たなるギター・ロックのヒーローはマンチェスターでもロンドンでもなく、中間地点のプレストンよりひっそりと、しかし確かに出現した！

The Cavalcade（騎馬行進、パレードの意）は、イギリス北部の都市、プレストン出身のCraig Philips（ヴォーカル／ギター）とStephen Birtchnell（ギター／キーボード／ベース）によって、2009年に結成された2人組。Felt、The Smiths、Belle & Sebastian他、下記のバンドより影響を受けた、彼らのメランコリックで凛としたインディー・ポップは、「聴き始めて2秒で既知感に覆われる」と言われるほど、懐かしさと清々しさに包まれる。2009年にバンドは自主制作で、シングル"Meet You In The Rain"でデビューし、名門7インチ・レーベル、Cloudberry Recordsもすぐさま限定EPをリリースした。バンドはEP2枚の後、Pebble Recordsと契約し、2010年9月にこのデビュー・アルバムが英国にてリリースされる。日本国内ではhappy princeより同年8月に先行リリース。 影響を受けたバンド／アーティスト： Felt, The Smiths, The Loft, The Servants, The Clientele, The Relict, The Sea Urchins, The Puddle, The Field Mice, Another Sunny Day, Joy Division, Magazine, Young Marble Giants...
