Wataru Abe is a versatile musician and composer from Tokyo, Japan. He has a rich musical background having studied classic to jazz music theories at Berklee College of Music, and bunch of sound programming including MAX/MSP. He has previously released several pop ambient and folky band albums under the group murr*murr, Ruibyat and Papa Joe.
東京生まれ/在住の電子音楽家。幼少の頃から楽器に慣れ親しみ、19歳より作曲を開始。米バークリー音楽大学にてクラシック～ジャズといった体系的な音楽知識・理論を学ぶと共に、Max/MSPをはじめとする音楽プログラミング言語での音楽表現に傾倒する。帰国後は様々なCM音楽制作・アレンジャーとして活動する傍ら、自己の表現をいっそう研ぎ澄ますことに集中。これまでにアンビエントポップmurr*murr名義にてフルアルバム「Daydream」(Fenomeno.Inc)や、フォーキー＆トラッドなRuibyat名義にて「Theme of Love」(Turquoise)をリリース。以後、電子音遊びのユニットPapa Joe名義などの活動を経て、2013年11月、初のソロアルバム「Phenomena」を邂逅よりリリース。
