2nd album by the Japanese female pianist zmi, following the highly acclaimed debut album "fu-ne". As the album and song titles
explain, the album contains 16 tracks made on different day, and these are her piano sketches representing the mood of that day.
The touching melody lines and the piano tones are simply beautiful, leaving us with a gentle and pleasant feeling.

“This album is my sound diary. I have always been bad about expressing things by words.The feeling of happiness, sadness and lonliness, or the calmness that lies during a quiet day -there are so many things that I would like to keep track of, but I just can’t maybe due to my lack of vocabulary.The air, temperature, humidity, sound of the wind and insects, or the sound of leaves swinging - there are always something going on even during an ordinary day. And even during a busy day, these sounds and sceneries are always present. And it’s the piano which was always beside of me. Sound is very abstract but that enables me to sketch freely about the daily things, and the feelings that I had at that moment, even about the air and the color of the sky. I hope you will enjoy listening to these collections of my sound diary.”
デビュー作にして名盤の「ふうね」が、今なおロングセラーを続けるzmi の約8 年ぶりとなる待望の新作！本作はいつものようにピアノの前に腰掛け、淡々とありのままに日常を記録したピアノ日記。スケッチ的に描かれたピアノの１粒１粒が、その場の空気をふんわりと優しく包み込む、感動的なまでに美しい名作です。

本作『Piano Diary』は、その名のとおり「音日記」です。私はかねてから言葉を扱うことが苦手でした。嬉しいこと、悲しいこと、何にもない日々の平穏さ、寂しさ、いろんな感情や出来事を言葉にしようと、全てを記録したくなるのですが、語彙力のなさからか、うまく言葉で綴ることができません。その時の空気、天気、湿度、温度、風の音、虫の音、葉の揺れる音、一見何もないような平穏な日々でも、毎日のようにこうしたものが聞こえ、見えており、何か出来事があった日も、その背後ではこうした音や景色が広がっています。その時常にそばにあったのは、ピアノでした。音はとても抽象的なものですが、その抽象さ故に、その時感じたこと、日々のこと、そこにある空気、空の色、色んなものを自由に描き、綴ることができます。これはあくまでも私の音日記を集めた作品ですが、どうか、自由に、聴いていただけたら嬉しいです。
