about

Arthur Dutra is now one of the most active vibraphone players in Rio deJaneiro, Brazil, has previously collaborated with renowned MPB artists such as Zé Renato, Lenine, Vanessa da Mata & Gilberto Gil and Guinga.
'O Tempo do Encontro (meaning "Meeting time") ' is his 2nd piece following the 'Projeto Timbatu' album and it expresses the composer's idea that our time can be regarded as a new era in terms of the relationship between the audience and the music, which can be regarded as "meeting a love of a life time" from the listener's point of view. The album was recorded in Rio de Janeiro between 2009 and 2011 with many great instrumentalists from Brazil, and guests such as Zé Renato, Moska, Zé Nogueira and Sílvia Machete, 'O Tempo do Encontro' presents Dutra´s songs, influenced by Indian, American, African and, of course, Brazilian music, as the vibraphone plays the role of the guitar in the field of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira). Dutra sings most of the songs, and can also be heard on drumset, marimba, steel drums, tabla, Brazilian percussion, and yang-chin (the chinese dulcimer). Moreover, Dutra was responsible for writing all the arrangements on the CD. Even through quick listening, you will easily notice Dutra's diverse talent as a musician. In 2012, he received Prêmio Icatu das Artes, an award which allowed him to move to Paris for a 1-year residency at Cité Internationale des Arts. He has performed throughout Brazil, and also in the U.S, France, Holland, Portugal, Germany and China.

This Japanese version includes 3 bonus tracks (tracks 11 to 13) which were taken from his 1st album "Projeto Timbatu" with new song orders and versions. Mastered by Chihei Hatakeyama.
